Master Tonis Van Driel and Lady Anne Mulligan's Page
Master Tonis is the Household's Bard and has sung a few of his song's at various events and competitions. Some of you my recognise 'To the War!'. He is one of the four Whiskey Bards who are becoming known the whole world wide. He is also a Squire brother of mine and Lady Anne is one of the House's seemstresses.
Born the child of a Dutch sailor and a Scottish mother of the MacGregor clan, Tonis Van Driel grew up in northern Scotland. He was given a Dutch name per his father's request. When Tonis was 12, he left his home to become a cabin boy on a ship with a desire to follow in his father's footsteps and travel the world. Through his songs and stories, he became well liked by his fellow sailors and spent many happy years travelling the seas of the world. When he was about 20, he found himself in the town of Belfast, Ireland in a pub where he met and fell in love with the proprietor's daughter. Eventually, they married and he decided to leave the sea and seek their fortunes in mainland Europe. Shortly after reaching the mainland, they reached Germany and joined the household of a knight by the name of Sir Mathias Von Loewenburg. When Sir Mathias joined the Knightly order of St. Michael and went on Crusade, Tonis went as well. He offered his sword as a squire and his voice as an inspiration to the Knights and soon found himself in the Holy Land....
Anne Mulligan comes from an Irish family which, though Christian, has strong ties to their Celtic heritage. Her family owns a tavern in Belfast where she worked as a serving maid learning the finer arts of brewing and concocting liqueors. She also practiced the various arts associated with making and maintaining clothing (i.e. sewing, embroidery, beading, etc.) At age 17, while working at her family's tavern, she met a Dutch /Scottish sailor by the name of Tonis Van Driel. They fell in love and were married shortly thereafter. (see previous history for continuation)
